Abstract

In the context of increasing requirements for the quality of legal personnel training, the search for effective means of forming the legal thinking of future lawyers is becoming particularly relevant. One such means is fiction, which exerts a significant influence on the development of the individual, their worldview, and their intellectual abilities. The article explores the role of Russian classical literature in shaping the legal thinking of law students. The methodological basis of the study is made up of competency-based, narrative, hermeneutic, and comparative approaches; methods of analysis, synthesis, content analysis, interpretation of literary texts, and scientific generalization were used. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of pedagogical approaches and educational methods aimed at developing students’ analytical and critical skills through reference to literary texts. As a result of the study, it was established that works of Russian classical literature possess significant potential for developing the linguistic, analytical, and ethical competencies of future lawyers, contributing to the formation of skills in legal argumentation, interpretation of complex texts, and understanding the motives of human behavior. The effectiveness of using a narrative approach for modeling legal situations and developing students’ professional legal awareness has been substantiated. It was concluded that the integration of fiction into the professional training system of lawyers is advisable as an important tool for forming their professional culture and legal thinking.
