Abstract

This article provides a comparative legal analysis of the role and activities of non-governmental non-profit organizations (NGOs) in the field of environmental protection, using the experience of Uzbekistan and China as examples. The study examines the legal foundations of environmental NGO activities, their participation in solving environmental problems, implementing public environmental control, and protecting the environmental interests of citizens. A comparative analysis was conducted on international treaties, national legislation of Uzbekistan and China, statistical data, survey results, and the activities of local and foreign NGOs. As a result of the study, certain legal and organizational problems hindering the development of environmental NGOs were identified, and scientific and practical proposals were developed aimed at supporting their activities, strengthening guarantees of their independence, and increasing the effectiveness of public participation in environmental protection.
